In January 2023 we took over the association ‘The Alice Foundation’ as the original team took their retirement. The original team neutered over 2000 cats in their years. Our aim is to continue their good work and try to cover more ground. We have big ideas and would like to see laws passed to see cats in France saved from suffering.  Every year thousands of stray and domestic cats give birth to thousands of babies, some get drowned (even though this is illegal), some abandoned, some given away to the fur trade, as snake food and for feeding birds of prey, then those out in nature get sick, injured, attacked, poisoned and lots are on the brink of starvation….life is pretty awful for most street cats.  A big part of the problem is un-neuterred pet cats and unwanted kittens that are thrown out into the wild.  Together we’d like to see a law passed that pet cats (unless you are a trained professional breeder) MUST be neutered. We decided to create the Tchica Café and charity shop to allow us to generate our own funds. This is very successful but finding long stay volunteers is always our biggest struggle.
